The LUC Club Tennis Team had 55 total members on the ’08-’09 Roster, 12 of whom were recognized as the A-Team. The team competed in nearly 10 away matches, including the Gopher Invitational, 4th Annual Badger Classic, USTA Midwest Campus Championship, and USTA National Campus Championship. Some notable achievements included advancing to the Gold Bracket of Regionals, hosting and dominantly winning the first annual Rambler Invitational, and qualifying for the first time in history to Nationals. The Season’s Notable Wins included wins over Gustavus Adolphus (MN), Depaul, IIT, UW-Whitewater, Valparaiso, Southern Illinois, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Michigan State, Marquette, Villanova, and Nebraska-Lincoln. The USTA, ITA, NIRSA, and Tennis Legend Billie Jean King representing WTT were all impressed with our club’s exponential growth as well as Sean Dacanay’s video.
